Storytel×Kräftskiva2026

Bringing Swedish storytelling traditions to Mexico City.

Every August, Swedes gather around long communal tables to celebrate one of the country's oldest and most beloved traditions: the Kräftskiva.

Songs are sung.
Stories are told.
Memories are created.

On August 8th, 2026, TILO Studios will recreate this tradition in the heart of Mexico City. We believe Storytel is the perfect partner to help tell this story.

Plate I — A Late Summer Evening

01About Kräftskiva

Not simply a dinner.A ritual of summer.

A Kräftskiva is a celebration of friendship, storytelling, rituals, songs, late summer and shared experience. For generations, it has marked the closing chapter of the Swedish summer.

Guests gather around long communal tables strung with paper lanterns. Crayfish are piled high. Candles flicker. Before every toast, a traditional drinking song is sung — verse by verse, voice by voice — until the table itself becomes the chorus.

"A Kräftskiva is, at its core, a storytelling experience."

02Why Storytel

Before audiobooks, there were stories shared around the table.

Storytel's mission is to democratize stories and preserve the traditions of storytelling. Kräftskiva is one of Sweden's oldest living storytelling rituals.

For centuries, Swedes have gathered around tables to tell stories, sing songs, share memories, and pass traditions from one generation to the next. This partnership connects Swedish heritage with modern storytelling — the oldest format meeting the newest.
